Thermometer

Thermometer

Thermometer is a temperature measuring instrument or the instrument used to measure the temperature. The temperature units usually used are Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Reamur. In international system,Kelvin is used as the standard temperature unit.

Based on the utilization, there are some types of thermometer, namely room, body, laboratory, and maximumminimum thermometers.

Laboratory thermometer
Laboratory thermometer is usually utilized to measure high accuracy temperature.scale of this thermometer is usually forming 0 until 110 degrees
celcius.

Clinical thermometer
Clinical thermometer is usually used for measuring body temperature when a person is feeling fever so that usually called fever thermometer. This thermometer has range from 35 until 42 degrees celcius.

Room thermometer
Room thermometer is usually used for knowing room temperature. Temperature usually shown is from -30 until 50 degrees celcius.

Maximum-minimum thermometer
Maximum-minimum thermometer is special thermometer to understand the least temperature and highest temperature in one day or in certain period.

And there are some thermometer that using non liquid measurer, like:

Gas thermometer
Principle of making gas thermometer is that if temperature is increase, gas pressure is also increase. Due to expanding value of gas is bigger than liquid material, measurement of gas thermometer is more accurate than thermometer utilizing liquid material. The area thermometer gas is also wide, from -250 until 1500 degrees celcius.

Platinum thermometer
Work principle of making platinum thermometer is the change of electrical resistance when the temperature is increase. Measuring area of this thermometer is also wide, from -250 until 1500 degrees celcius, and more accurate.

Thermistor thermometer
Principle of rate of this thermometer is that when temperature is increasing, the thermostat resistance is decreasing. The change of this resistance can be used to measure temperature. Measuring area of this thermometer is limited, that from -25 until 180 degrees celcius.

Pyrometer
Pyrometer is a measuring tool used tu measure very high temperature material more than 1000 degrees celcius.
